Competitive Tryouts

This season, due to the current restrictions we are holding VIDEO TRYOUTS for anyone who is interested in being part of a competitive team next season. Video tryouts must follow the guidelines below to be taken into consideration. Please read them carefully as without a video, you/your child will not be considered for a competitive team.

Video Submission Guidelines

  1. All information and skills listed below must be videoed and sent in for you/your child to be considered for a competitive team

  2. All videos must be filmed so that the athletes full body can be seen throughout. All skills must be videoed from beginning to end. Please video skills separately to ensure video size is small enough for e-mail

  3. All tryout skills must be performed on a dead floor (no air tracks or trampolines)

  4. Follow the YouTube video links for further guidance of the skills we are asking for

  5. If your athlete cannot perform all tumble skills listed for their age group, then they should only film the skills they can perform safely. (PLEASE NOTE: If you are 12+ and cannot do a back handspring, that does not mean you won't make a team. Perform the skills you are capable of and to the best of your ability.)

After receiving your video submission, we will get in touch to let you know we have received it. We may require more information or skills from you so keep an eye out for our e-mails.

Team selections will take place on 24th July and our decisions will be e-mailed out to you that day. On receiving your Team Placement e-mail you must respond to accept your position on the team we have offered. If you do not respond, the position will be offered out to the next athlete on the list.

Our new season officially starts early (we want to get the athletes back into some sort of routine) on Monday 3rd August. If restrictions have not been lifted, our competitive sessions will take place over zoom at the time your normal sessions would take place during the week. Athletes are required to attend and we will be following our attendance policy as normal, therefore strikes will be issued for non attendance unless the absence falls under our excused absence list.

Please note: If you/your child does not make it onto a competitive team for Season 5, they will be offered a place on one of our Recreational teams. They will then have the chance to work on the skills they need to progress to competing when they are ready.
